This work is from a series of self portraits completed last year as part of my

Masters final project. This final project investigated childhood trauma and how

the psyche compensates and creates protective mechanisms to deflect these

emotional wounds. This portrait reflects a life stage and I am wearing one of a

series of stitched and padded objects with associations to protection and healing.

I wanted this portrait to embody vulnerability as well as stoicism and strength.

The other 2 images included are also from this series.
