The concept behind Abe Dunovits' solo exhibition 'SELFIE' is an exploration of the self through everyday photographs, images, and videos. The ironic juxtaposition of a seemingly self-obsessed man who is not actually young or good-looking is the opposite of what the concept of 'SELFIE' was supposed to be. This show is the celebration of normality and absurdity; how absurd normality can be and how normal absurdity can be.

Dunovits' exploration of self-portraiture digs into the subconscious self, where contorted images of himself in mostly fake antique trays were traced and coloured for posterity, much like we do on a steamy mirror after a shower. Alongside self-portraits, Dunovits has created a video installation, a sound art piece, a selection of photographs, an experimental instrument, and an interactive piece. 'SELFIE' fits into a contemporary format of common everyday expression.
