Submissions are open for NOIR's inaugural street photography exhibition.

Showcasing the banal, unexpected and fleeting moments captured on camera. Bringing together the voyeuristic, fascinated by the impermanence of light and movement in their environment.

 

Exhibition April 17th - 28th

Opening Night Friday 19th April

Submission deadline midday March 17th

Accepting digital, analogue and moving images

Entry Fee $35 and $20 for each additional artwork

Works 50cm x 50cm or smaller*

Important Dates:

  • Applications close midday 17th March
  • Exhibition runs 17th April - 28th April
  • Opening night Friday 19th April 7pm - 10pm
  • Artwork pick up Sunday 28th April between 12pm and 6pm
  • NOIR darkroom is located at 57 Moreland Rd Coburg. Artworks may be posted or dropped off in person but artist is to organise and cover cost of postage/courier (including returns if necessary).
  • A non-refundable entry fee payment of $35, with a fee of $20 for each supplementary artwork (with a limit of 5 artworks)
  • *Works bigger than 50cm x 50cm will incur an extra fee, negotiated with NOIR staff.
  • Works are to be presented in 2D photographic medium including digital photography, analogue photography and moving image.
  • All works must be ready to hang. Frames with d-hooks and straps. Works on paper will be hung using sticky tabs or magnets if artist does not supply specific hanging device. Any artist submitting a moving image must provide own TV / Monitor / Projector / media player*.
  • Fee must be paid by March 17th 2019. 
  • NOIR does not take commission on sales. Artists are responsible for sales of artworks. NOIR will not handle money for artists. NOIR will collect and pass on details between artists and customers so that artist can organise purchases and artwork pick up.
  • NOIR can not ensure safe storage artworks after the exhibition. Artworks left behind may incur a late pick up fee.
  • Artworks deemed inappropriate by NOIR will not be accepted (for example works that are deemed racist, violent, homo/transphobic, sexist etc).
  • While NOIR takes precautions to ensure your artwork is safe we do not take responsibility for theft or damage of artworks. Artists are encouraged to take out insurance on their art work if necessary. 
  • NOIR uses photographs of artworks for advertising on line, in digital form and in print.
  • Artist must be the lawful copyright owner of their works.
