C-41 Colour 135 Film

ADOX Color Implosion has a modified colour scheme and produces rad and unpredictable shots. It has an incredible massive grain with awesome red colour rendering. Recommended for creative and experimental work.

 

KODAK UltraMax is a great budget film offering versatility and high saturation. It's daylight balanced with great skin tone rendering and a fine grain.

 

KODAK Colour Plus offers fine grain, good skin tone and is a good all rounder for mixed lighting situations

 

FUJI COLOR ISO 100 Being an ISO 100 film FUJICOLOR is for general outdoor photography, offers fine grain, outstanding color, beautiful skin tones and sharpness with wide exposure latitude. Its great for beginners or lens slingers. It's my personal fave for music festivals and summer snapshots as it is affordable and reliable outdoors.

Black & White 135 Film

 

ADOX Silvermax is a super sharp film with a very fine grain and a higher silver content than other b+w films. It has the ability to capture high detail in both highlights and shadows when developed as a negative. Silvermax can also be processed as a reversal film (positive) with appropriate reversal chemistry.

 

FOMA Retropan is designed for darkroom use with a contrast suitable for use in enlargers and for contact printing. It has a fine grain with a wide range of half tones and great sharpness and resolution.

 

ROLLEI Superpan is a high speed all rounder film. It captures details in poor lighting conditions and can be comfortably pushed to iso 400. Superpan also has an extended infrared range (up to 750 nm) that can be used creatively with appropriate filters.

 

ROLLEI Ortho film has an iso of 25 making it a super slow film. Designed as a graphical film for documents and scientific work with a crystal clear RC base, it can even be used as a B+W slide film. It produces great, soft and interesting photographic imagery with high sensitivity and up to two stops in reserve. Not to be limited to document based work.

 

ROLLEI Infrared is ideal for creative and experimental photographic projects and scientific applications. Needs to be used along with appropriate black filters to produce unusual tonal representation.

 

FOMAPAN profiline 400 is a panchromatically sensitized, black-and-white negative film designed for taking photographs under unfavourable light conditions or using short exposure times.

Black & White Sheet Film

 

ROLLEI ATO 2.1 Suprgraphic is a super sharp lith based film with a crystal clear RC base. Contrast can be greatly controlled with various developers to produce dramatic picture results. A slow film that can be used under a red safelight.

DOES NOIR PROCESS COLOUR FILM?

We don't process colour films at NOIRdarkroom but we can give you information on who does. Our top suggestion is ANALOG(UE) Academy in Geelong. There friendly service and 1 hour c-41 processing is only $5 a roll (or $10 with scans). Its definitely worth the trip. The lab is located in their cafe, serving gourmet hot dogs, great coffee and complimentary old-school gaming consoles to play while you wait for your film to be processed. They also have bar on Friday and Saturday night and monthly art exhibitions.
